This page describes how long Vexo keeps the data that your apps and websites send, and how you delete it.
Vexo keeps your data until you delete it. On every plan, free and paid, there's no automatic expiry: events, sessions, session replays, heatmap screenshots, and the rest of the data that your apps and websites send stay stored.
Data that you've already collected stays stored when Vexo stops collecting new data, for example when you reach the free allowance or an app reaches its usage cap.
To act on a person's request to erase their data, for example under the GDPR or the CCPA, erase the data of their device. Send a DELETE request with the app's ID and the person's device ID:
curl --location --request DELETE 'https://api.vexo.co/apps/{appId}/devices/{deviceId}/data' \
--header 'Authorization: {AUTH_TOKEN}'
AUTH_TOKEN: the token from the login endpoint described in Export API. You need write access to the app, which the app's owner has, and your email address must be verified.appId: the ID in your browser's address bar on any of the app's pages, /apps/{appId}/....deviceId: the ID at the top of the person's page in People. The request erases the following for that device:
identifyDevice, the device's own identifier, and its traits. The device record stays, without them. The response lists what was erased, and the app's Audit Log, in the app's Settings, records the erasure. You can safely send the request again.
The request doesn't erase the following:
When you delete an app from its Settings page, under Danger Zone, Vexo stops collecting its data, and the app and its data no longer appear in your dashboard. For details, see Delete Application.
Deleting an app doesn't erase its stored data. To erase a person's data, erase their device's data before you delete the app. To ask for the rest of a deleted app's data to be erased, contact us.
When you delete your account, Vexo deletes every app that you own, as described in Delete an app, and closes your account. As with an app, your apps' stored data isn't erased. For details, see Account Settings.
Vexo backs up its databases so that it can recover from a failure. Data that you erase or delete can remain in those backups until they're rotated out.
